The gSMC-KT-2.1 security card is mandatory for gematik to use for the operation of eHealth terminals and is used to clearly identify the eHealth card terminal within the telematics infrastructure. In addition to the RSA algorithm, it also supports the ECC algorithm and can be used in any gematik-approved eHealth card terminal with a card slot for the ID-000 (Security Module Card) format.
Attempts at manipulation are prevented with an easy-to-check seal sticker (e.g. included in the scope of delivery of the CHERRY eHealth card terminal ST-1506) above the card slot.
